Busy and Productive Day!

For being as tired as I was this morning, I got a ton accomplished today. I think I did as much today as I normally do in about a week with all of the running I did everywhere! I don't like going everywhere too often because it can be more of a hassle than it's worth to haul at least 1-2 kids everywhere I go.

My morning started out with hubby waking up Jax and I since Jaxton had to get up for preschool. I was pretty nervous for how he was going to be since he kept going from laughing at being tickled to angry within seconds. He stayed up pretty late last night so I know he was tired. He wasn't bad getting ready though and we were out the door on time with Korbin tagging along.

Dropping him off made me a little more nervous because he got mad at me that he couldn't take his Star Wars book in again for show and tell. I tried telling him he had show and tell last time he had school but that was not what he wanted to hear! Once we got inside and got his hands washed and such though he was a little better. I warned my mom (the teacher) that he was a bit moody so she could watch out and took off.

Korbin and I went to Hy-Vee for a few things after dropping off Jaxton. I've been meaning to go get some milk for a few days now so it was much needed. I picked up some donuts that had creme filling while I was there. I needed the extra sugar! They were definitely the right choice:)

Once we got home and I fed Korbin again I had to get ready for work. This included playing with Bentley for a while too so he didn't feel ignored. I set Korbin on his playmat and he wasn't real happy with it but Bentley sure wanted to play with it once I picked him up!

It was extremely slow at work today so I got to leave early and accomplish things I keep wanting to do without kids but never get the chance to. I took the cans back that were in the van waiting for me and made some money. Then I went out and signed up for a Photography class at the college for the fall. I'm so excited to actually take a class and see what I can learn from it. I'm hoping it'll make me a little more confident with my work and maybe I'll take more pictures for other people then.

Anyway, after that I went back home and snuggled with Korbin for a bit...and fed him a few times of course. I tried sneaking in a quick nap but Bentley sensed it and woke up as soon as we got comfortable. So much for that! After bringing him down and taken care of Jaxton came downstairs too. I slowly worked on bribing him to go get a haircut.

After about twenty minutes of bribery (the kid seriously hates getting his hair cut) and a "red pop-tart" Jax, Korbin, and I set off again. Don't laugh but to get him to get his haircut I had to let him play games on my phone, get a treat, and go play at McDonalds. For the first time ever he sat by himself to get it done and I was way impressed. He cried a little bit, especially when the lady wet down his hair and got water in his face, but overall he was way better than last time! So for his treat he picked out a 10 pack of Reeses lol. Surprisingly Korbin sat calmly in his carseat the whole time we were there and just watched everything. I went back and forth between comforting Jax and sticking the binky in Korbin's mouth so he'd stay content. I felt more than lucky when leaving there!

We came home after the haircut to once again feed Korbin and then get Bentley ready to go play. I am not sure what made me decide to be so brave but I decided to go ahead and take all three boys to McDonalds by myself. I have never even come close to considering it before! We got there and I explained to the older two that when I said it was time to go they needed to listen and behave...they agreed but I didn't get my hopes up. All I could think of was how I could possibly carry a carseat and two kicking toddlers out the door at the same time.

We ordered their kids meals and got our drinks. While opening the door to the playplace I didn't have a great time though. Some idiot decided to put a high chair in front of the door so it wouldn't open right and I had a carseat in one hand, a tray in the other, and two kids pushing at my sides. Needless to say a pop fell and spilled everywhere. Great start to the trip and of course nobody got up to help...they just watched. We finally got settled though and the boys nicely waited for me to help with their coats and shoes and took of without eating. I decided to just let them play since they had been snacking all evening anyway and I didn't want the battle...but I did want some chicken nuggets:)

Korbin wasn't sure if he wanted to behave or not while we were there but after bouncing him with a binky in his mouth for a while he fell asleep on me. All I had to worry about then was one of the other peoples' bratty kids hurting the boys somehow (which thankfully never happened) or Bentley getting stuck up high and needing my help (he's done it to my mom before). Luckily it was a completely drama free play time! Jax made buddies with the girls that were there instantly, as usual. Bentley just kept to himself and watched everyone for the most part. The only thing that could have been better about the trip is that there could have been someone less annoying in the booth behind me. The old lady just wanted to chat and I really wasn't in the mood to keep up with her and the kids. She was kind of weird.

I could tell around 7:30 they were starting to wear down so I told them they had about 15 more minutes and we were leaving. They played for about 5 and came back to the table. Jax went and sat by the Ronald McDonald and asked me to take his picture and then Bentley needed up with him:)

After this they let me put their shoes and coats back on. Bentley was a bit more of a struggle but wasn't really that bad. We left before the other kids did and there wasn't even any complaints! I gave them their toys and said we were going to go home and take a bath and they both just listened!

Bath time was a bit more of a struggle since they were so tired and I didn't even attempt Korbin's since he was already fussy. It was hard trying to get them cleaned up quick and keep him quiet but luckily the bouncer and his new bear did the trick pretty well. That leads us to now! I'm not sure why I"m still up and blabbering away when I have to be at work at 7am but I just thought I'd share what my whole day was like. My kids were so much better than they have been lately and it was so nice! It was strange having Korbin being the most crabby of them all and he isn't really that bad at all.

Before I head to sleep I better share my picture of the day. I almost forgot to take it! The theme is "cold." Several ideas came to mind but I ended up settling on my favorite cold drink.
