What a Day...

First of all my baby is already three months old today! Where in the world has the time gone?! He is growing so fast but is so sweet right now. I really just want to freeze time and keep him like this forever so I don't need more babies! I had planned on taking pictures today but only got a couple because of something else major that happened (will explain shortly) so here are the few I did manage to get today

I had to work this morning and we were surprisingly busy the whole shift. Not long before I was supposed to get off the phone rang and when Annette answered she handed it to me. I was thrown off because nobody has ever called there for me before. It was my mother in law saying that my husband's work had called and he was taken to the hospital because he hit his head. She said they had tried calling me and she had also but I didn't answer (didn't have my phone on me) so she called work. I checked my phone right after hanging up and sure enough I had 7 missed calls from his work number.

I obviously took off from work right away even though I was starving and really wanted to grab something to eat. I didn't want to take the time to make anything though, especially having no idea what condition he was in. It really bothered me that he didn't call or text and that made me think it was serious.

By the time I got up to Humboldt it was about an hour after the accident. I went in and asked where he was and they said he was back having x-rays so I could sit and wait. That was awkard because their ER waiting room is the same as outpatient where I have gone for OB appointments in the past. His boss was in the room and explained that a piece of steel had fallen and he had a good bump on his head and his shoulder and knee also were hurt. He explained that he was able to talk and answer all the questions he was asked except his age (I said I never know mine either).

Finally they brought him back through and I was able to go talk to him. Thankfully he was talking like normal and I could tell it wasn't extremely serious (to his head anyway). He told me that he was moving a piece of steel and somehow it fell and he tried to slow it down and that's how he hurt his shoulder, but it still hit him in the head. The piece of steel was about 500lbs so he is more than lucky to be alive right now.

After a lot of waiting around they finally came back and said that the CT scan came back fine and he was able to get off of the board he was still on from the ambulance ride. It's hard to believe that with something so large hitting him there was no major damage. He was able to walk away with a nasty mark to show from it though and hasn't been cleared to go back to work yet.

In good news for the day we bought tickets to take the boys to see Sesame Street Live in two weeks! I am soo excited! Bentley is completely obsessed with Elmo right now so I know he will just love it. It is a superhero show and that's the stuff Jax is into so I think he will enjoy it too:) It'll be hard to be away from Korbin that long but my mom offered to keep him so it'll be nice to spend some time with the older two for once too. I can't wait to go!

As for the picture of the day...I have it on my phone so I'll upload it on here in a separate blog shortly. It was "skyline" and I took it while on the way back from Humboldt on my phone so it's nothing exciting at all. It has been gloomy and somewhat rainy all evening so there was nothing nice:(

Anyways, I'm off to bed now since Korbin had me up at 5:45 and the other two were up way earlier than usual also. Of course if Korbin isn't up early tomorrow I have to wake up to get Jax ready for preschool so I'll be up early no matter what. Oh the joys of parenthood! At least the kids are totally worth the lack of sleep<3
