Day Zero Project Update

Wow I have actually been working on a fair amount of these and havent' had the chance to post about them yet! I'll start out  in the order they are all listed.

9)Read 101 books.(2/101)-I know I know I better get moving on this one a little quicker than I have been! I just finished Eleven on Top by Janet Evanovich and am about 1/3 of the way through the next one already. Luckily there is a library here and they get ahold of them fairly quickly if they don't have them in so I don't have to buy them all!

14) Straighten hair for an entire week (6/7)- To me this one is horrible because I'm a very lazy person when it comes to doing my hair. I am on day six today (once I hop in the shower here shortly) and so I might as well finish it out!

31) Redecorate Jaxton's bedroom- This is mostly finished! Since we moved we bought him a Cars toddler bed with everything to match of course! I just need to finish his name and repaint his dresser before I consider it finished.

39) Donate old clothes- Before we left Iowa I went through all of my clothes and got rid of anything I hadn't worn in a while and had just been holding onto saying I would wear it. My closet seems so bare now but I donated everything to the Key in Fort Dodge which is a place where victims of domestic assault are able to go and get the things they need for themselves and their children. I took in 3 huge garbage bags stuffed full so hopefully I was able to help someone in need with at least a few of the items!

40) Buy something off of my Etsy wishlist- I have been eyeballing camera bags for a while now and I put in an order for one yesterday!! I have this marked as in progress because I haven't completed the transaction and gotten the bag yet but it is in the works! She takes a little while to make them but I should have it before the first wedding I am helping with in March.

48)Buy an external flash- I was so excited to be able to cross this one off! If you can't read what it says I bought my external flash for my camera! It was the one thing I really wanted to get out of our tax money. Most of it went towards the move and new bills associated with moving but I managed to talk hubby into letting me go grab this. Sadly I have only used it a few times because several pictures have been taken outside instead of inside and it's so bright I haven't felt I needed it. I still love that I have the option of using it and I know I'll put it to good use for the weddings in March!

59) Donate to a good cause- I actually donated money to two good causes this month already. The first I found out about through someone else that was trying to help a family in need. The family was trying to adopt a little girl from another country (the exact location slips my mind right now but I want to say it was Ethiopia) and they had the travel costs covered but needed another $6,000 in adoption fees and such. The wonderful girl that was helping spread the message was also offering free crochet patterns with the donations and she was able to help them raise around $1,200 just through this!
I also donated to the Polar Plunge. A friend of mine in Minnesota has participated in this for a couple of years now. They basically raise money for the Special Olympics and then they barrel into freezing cold water for a while! I think I'll stick to donating a little money instead of diving into the cold water:)

74)Watch 101 new movies (4/101)- Two nights ago we watched Paranormal Activity 2. This was not that great of a movie IMO. Obviously they just felt the need to set up for yet another one at the end. I wouldn't recommend this movie at all.

82) Walk/Run 101 Miles (3/101)- Well I got a start at least! I have gone for two walks with Amber and all the boys which were about a mile a piece and then I also decided to run one morning by myself! That was more of a walk/run but I attempted it. I really want to start running on a more regular basis but it's tough when I hate mornings and I'm too tired at night!

96) Make 101 scrapbookpages for the boys' scrapbooks (18/101)- This one is probably my favorite one to work on. I probably have made more but I always forget to keep track. I printed off pictures for plenty more pages last week so I really need to get them back out and get moving!

I feel like I have been putting a good dent on in the list for the first month and a half already! It's kind of fun to be doing things and think 'hey that's on my list!'

I'm Back!!

I haven't posted on this blog in a while. Moving got the best of my time and then between getting settled, shipping family back home, taking care of the kids, interviews, and anything else I have just been slacking! Soo I'll catch up briefly now and then just move on after today and hopefully get back to a normal routine.

Let's see...we left on the 31st. My mom rode with the boys and I. We drove to St Louis for day one and stayed there. I met up with Jess and Raymond at Hard Rock Cafe for the first time and it was fun but they boys were both ready for bed:( After searching for a WalMart for meds for both of my sick kids for over an hour I finally went back to hotel. At 4am we were woke up to coughing kids again so this time I used mapquest on my phone and found out WalMart was literally 5 minutes away. Jax was wide awake so he went with me and by then I was awake so when I got back we showered and decided to get back on the road.

Day two we didn't make a lot of stops but I had found a place called The Monkey's Treehouse in Nashville I wanted to stop at for Jax to be able to get out and run. This place ended up being pretty cool and I really wish he could have stayed all day instead of just over an hour. It was basically a huge indoor tree house and then they had other areas like a giant city with cars and such, an art area, a huge mulch pit, and plenty more. The rest of the drive sucked and was just really long but thankfully we missed all bad weather and made it to our new home late that night.

My brother had rode with Toad in the moving truck and they had arrived way before mom and I so they thankfully had the truck unloaded. I gave strict orders not to unpack so they had the couch, tv, and dvd player hooked up and were just hanging out when we arrived.

Mom and Keith stayed for the rest of the week. The weather was rainy which sucked but oh well-what can you do? Getting them home turned out to be a huge mess and so Toad ended up driving them back to Iowa and then he had to return by himself:(

Anyways, so far I love Florida. The weather of course is much nicer than the blizzards they got back in Iowa right after we left. Our house is smaller than the last one but it is also way cheaper and it has space for what we have so it'll work for now! I am working at a liquor store part time and also just picked up a second job at Buffalo Wild Wings for Spring Break. Rumor has it they make some big bucks there over Spring break and I like spending money and reallly want a new camera already so I figured a few months of being home a little less would be worth the income.

Other than that I don't know a whole lot extra. I'd post pics but it's getting really late (for me anyway) and I'm ready to crash. So I'm heading to bed! Good night!
