Air Show

Yesterday I had the day off since I was supposed to photograph a wedding but unfortunately the bride's dad passed away earlier in the week so the wedding was postponed. That meant I was left with a day off with my boys! Amber invited us to go to the AF base for the air show for the day. I thought Jaxton would have fun and it'd be a nice day out so I agreed.

Getting there was ridiculous. I had no idea how huge this air show is (on the news last night they said over 70,000 people were there). We waited for parking forever and the poor boys were facing the sun so they were super hot even with the air on. Once we finally got into the show we lost Amber and Tony right off the bat which was a bummer but at least they didn't have to endure the day with Jax being a pill.

The afternoon actually went fairly smoothly without too many outbursts. I can't wait for these terrible two's to be over with! We got to walk through a couple of planes and of course Jax loved that. He didn't care for the actual air show which was a bummer because I thought it would have been fun to watch but oh well. Anyways here a few pictures from the day. The Navy had a boat of some sort there also for people to check out. Jaxton loved this one and kept going back and for between the two little spaces that were open to check out.

 Here is one of the planes we walked through. The guy that was in there let Jax sit in a seat by a bunch of controls and everything!

 Jaxton hated the noise so he was constantly covering his ears like this. The funny part was the first few times he was doing it he wasn't even covering his ears lol

TGIF

Started off the morning having to work, but once again it was beyond slow. After my first table left they started cutting the floor and luckily I was in back when Katie asked if I'd like to go home since I worked a double yesterday and I jumped on that opportunity! I need the money but I really wanted the chance to have some outdoor family time for once.

We ended up going back to Pier Park but Jaxton never napped so he was beyond cranky. I rode on the little train with him but after that he was just angry it was done so we had to leave before he made a huge scene:( Now both boys went to bed early since Bentley was also short a nap today and so I have some quiet time! I may go read shortly but here are a few picture from today before I do so...

 I didn't think his face looked so funny from supper still but the picture says otherwise! Don't mind the dumped over Diaper Genie in the corner. I'm pretty sure it's empty and I learned not to ask why things are in strange places when I come home after the boys are with daddy all day.

 And I don't care for myself much in this picture but I still think it's cute:)

Day Zero Project Update

I completely forgot to update on a couple of completed goals from the past few weeks! I finally used Skype (it's been downloaded for some time now). Jax of course doesn't sit still too long to talk to Gaga (my mom) but they both enjoy it. The other goal I completed was 49. Frame a picture I take that isn't of the boys. I have this picture hanging in our bedroom. I took it a while ago but still love it.

Don't have a whole lot more to update on. Checking my list made me realize I really need to start watching some movies though! Maybe I'll talk my hubby into watching something tonight.

My baby...

My baby is growing up too fast! He hasn't cared to crawl much until the past few days although he has been scooting around and pulling himself up on everything for a couple weeks now. Here is a video of him this morning. Obviously he get sidetracked easily (possibly like his mother) and didn't finish crawling to me but you get the idea!

I'm horrible at taking videos of the kids because I'm so used to just taking pictures so I'm thinking about saving up for a cheap video camera and trying to use it at least once a week. I know my camera works fine for it but something smaller would be nice to carry around for quick videos! Maybe someday in the near future...

What a day!

Earlier this afternoon I planned on blogging tonight with the pictures of our day. It was gorgeous outside so Amber and I took the boys to the park and let them play. Bentley was tired and in turn cranky but Jaxton had tons of fun.

To get Jax to leave the park without too huge of a fit I bribed him with playing basketball outside when we got home and of course I kept my camera on me then too:) I'm actually proud of myself because I shot in manual the entire time we were outside. Usually I get frustrated and go back to one of the auto settings

And this is one of the neighbors three obnoxious dogs. It was too cute watching us through the fence so I had to catch it in a picture!

The rest of the night was supposed to be calm and we were going to attempt getting the boys to bed at a decent time but Jaxton had other plans. He fell in our bedroom and hit his nose on the frame of the bed (at least that's all I can figure out he hit) and was bleeding like crazy. We ended up taking him to ER because it looked like there was a hole and it was just gross looking. Luckily I was able to have Amber watch Bentley while we went.

There was a long wait before he was seen but since he is still young there is only cartilage and no bone yet so he didn't break his nose. They glued the cut shut instead of using stitches (thankfully for all involved). It was a hassle holding him down for the dr to do this and then we had to hold him again to put strips of bandage on it but overall it didn't take too long and he walked out ok. I was accused of being a 'mean mom' by Toad for taking pics during the ER trip but I don't care! They are only cell phone pics since I could have cared less about grabbing my camera during the chaos of getting him to ER so they aren't great but you get the idea!

This picture doesn't do justice on how bad it actually looked but it's the best I could get.

And now I am finally heading to bed. I am so off on my sleep schedule thanks to working so late most nights and so when I'm not at work I'm still up til 1am. Unfortunately I work a double tomorrow though so I should get to sleep soon!

Becoming old

I was drving home from work last night about 2am and started wondering when I started feeling like I'm getting "old." I can't decide on an answer to this though. Of course the first thing that came to mind was when I had kids but I don't think that's it. Then I thought maybe it goes back to when I got married...nah I was only 20 and that is not old. Maybe it was when I decided going to bed anytime after 11 was too late? I have no idea when that was though!

I know I am still young by many standards but there are so many days I just don't feel like it! I'm always ready for bed well before midnight (and working so late is kicking my butt). My body just seem slike it is always sore lately-probably because I am so out of shape and running around like a madwoman at work attributes to this one. I rarely have the ambition to do anything around the house because I feel like I'm missing out on so much time with my kids that I try to spend time playing with them instead of doing anything else (ok sometimes Facebook might jump in my way there too).

But seriously-when did I get so old?!

Maybe this time...

I really keep thinking "I should go blog" but I have been so busy I think sleeping always sounds like a better idea! It has been crazy since I've been working 5-6 days a week and usually don't get off til any time between 10pm and 2am. I'm not used to these young people hours anymore! I do love my job though and almost everyone I work with seems to be great. Of course the good money is an added bonus too:)

Yesterday I shot my first wedding with Amber. It was her friend Lisa and it was a great learning experience! I knew my pictures weren't great but I feel horrible after taking these! Granted there are still a couple hundered that are good but I am so overly critical of myself that I notice something wrong with every picture I take. Here are a couple of my favorites so far though!

This is Lisa. She was a great sport with the pics but I'm pretty sure she was tired of smiling by the end of the day!

The bouquets! Just playing with some saturation in this pic but I like the way it turned out.

And this is by far my favorite picture of the day. The colored version was very crisp and nice but for some reason this one I like even better.

I can't wait to be able to do more weddings soon and know what to be extra careful to learn before I do! I love weddings so much and it is even better to be able to photograph them for someone else:)

Well I'd update a little more but I have to leave for work yet again. I do plan to start blogging much more regularly though and even downloaded the app on my phone again so I don't have the excuse that I'm too lazy to sit at my computer!
