Splashpad and Playtime!

This afternoon my sister asked if I wanted to go to the splashpad with her and Kayden. Jaxton was still napping and had already been there earlier in the morning so I packed up Bentley and Korbin and off we went! This was the first time Korbin had been there and apparently it was just what he needed today. The poor guy has been really fussy thanks to teething, but he was perfectly calm watching the water. That is until it splashed on him lol. He cuddled mommy most of the time and even fell asleep...until the water hit him again!

He was told to smile for GaGa...he stuck out his tongue instead:)

Bentley had fun too but I didn't get pictures of him because my mom and sister were party poopers and don't like cameras so they didn't want to help me. Oh well, there's always next time!

Tonight the kids were downright ornery. To get them out of this mood I went and played with them and their guys to keep them from a)hitting each other, b)knocking over each other's guys, and c)to make time go by faster. Luckily all of the reasons listed worked out and they had a lot of fun and didn't want me to stop when Korbin got tired of his jumperoo. Here is what I spent quite a bit of time doing tonight...

I love these boys<3 They really make me test my patience some nights but at the end of the day it's all worth it.

I forgot about this list last time I posted so here is the next item on it. List 10 things you would tell your 16 year old self if you could.

Korbin's First Food...and more!

So, I know he is just shy of 6 months, but this kid wants to try everything near him! I have been doing so good with holding off but last night I decided he is close enough and this poor baby really wants to eat something! Since I had some mashed potatoes I decided to let him try just a little bit of them and he was so thrilled to be allowed to eat something! Obviously they don't have a lot of flavor so it was nothing amazing but I plan to go out and buy some avacado for him in the next day or two.
Trying to steal Bentley's food

"Let me feed myself!"

He didn't want to let go of the spoon lol

"He's really giving it to me?!"

"What is this?!"

Licking up anything he missed

Happy lil man!

This week I only work one morning and don't have any doctor appointments for anyone so I actually have so free time! I have a couple of playdates planned which will be pretty fun for the kids and I:) Those are later in the week though so I'll try to post some pictures after they take place.

It's been a while since I've updated on my progress of my Day Zero Project so I'll try and catch that up a little bit. I have actually gotten a few more done, started a couple of others, and added to more. I am getting the feeling I might not be able to complete them all like I wanted to, but looking at the list I can still knock quite a few off in a short time if I really wanted to! Here's what's been done:

8)Finish my wedding scrapbook-COMPLETE! This took almost five years but it is finally done!

9)Read 101 books (42/101)-I think I read a couple of others I forgot to write down so I didn't add them in and won't unless I think of what they were. I'm currently reading the 50 Shades series and they're pretty good! I'm just about done with book #2 and keep having late nights because I won't put it down.

19)Buy Jaxton rainboots and play in the rain. So I bought the rainboots over a month ago but we haven't been getting any rain! We need it so badly and I think he will really have fun with this!

29)Record a video of the boys. I've actually recorded quite a few of them and usually post them on Facebook when I do. It's so cute going back and seeing how they were just a short time ago!

33)Backup all pictures online. I've backed up over 13,000 so far and I'm not quite done with 2011. Not to mention the stuff I didn't back up yet from before Jaxton was born :s I think I take a few pictures!

35) Send at least 10 birthday cards in one year (3/10). I love getting mail and so I thought this one would be fun. I've been trying to send cards out to friends and some of their kids when I think about it.

41) Save the change in my purse for six months. (2/6) I'm curious to see how much I end up with! It's hard not to spend it sometimes but I've been doing pretty good at just using cash!

61) Add to foot tattoo. I'm so happy this one is finally done!!  I have been wanting to get it fixed and added to for quite a while but just didn't know what I wanted to do. I asked around for a little help and a friend helped me come up with a cute design to fix it. I'm so much happier with it now and really want more ink!

Before...the person did a horrible job. Long story short, I never went back there.
After! Much better thanks to Jill for helping design it and Tre for tattooing!
73)Watch 101 movies I forgot what I am up to but I know it isn't very high. I love watching movies but with the kids it's hard to do sometimes! I did add 12 since I last updated though:)

That's all the updates for now! Hopefully more will be coming soon.

Playing Catch-up Yet Again

I've been horrible with blogging lately. I have all intentions of keeping up and then time just gets away from me and before I know it, it's been over a week since my last post! Korbin keeps going through a phase where he doesn't want to go to sleep at night unless we are in bed and that's my time to get stuff done...so nothing has been getting done!

I feel like life has been hectic lately, but really it's just everyday stuff adding up fast. I need like 10 more hours in a day so I can get everything done I want to. I'm scared for how little time I'll have when I actually start my classes next month! I am super excited to finally be going to school and knowing exactly what I want. I take the test they require with applications for the program next week and then I can send in my app and play the waiting game. Fingers crossed!

Not much new to report on the kiddos. They've been keeping me plenty busy as usual. Here's a few pics of their finished shirts from the 4th

And just because I can...some more of cute little Korbin

He's such a sweetheart and is just getting too big too fast!! He wants to crawl and that scares the crap out of me! I'm not ready for another mobile child!

I'll just post the answers to the list every time that I actually post since daily isn't working again. I'm on 3. Describe your relationship with your parents. Right now I have a great relationship with my mom. I talk to her about every day and I'm sure I drive her crazy sometimes but that's ok:) My dad I've never really been that close with. When I was pregnant with Jaxton was the most I've ever talked to him and ever since it's just been here and there. I know that if I ever needed something though he'd be there.

1. List 20 random facts about yourself.
2. Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears.
3. Describe your relationship with your parents.

4. List 10 things you would tell your 16 year-old self, if you could.

Well, naptime is over so back to the real world for a while!

The Eve of July 4th!

Last night ended up being too late for me after opening in the morning, so the post had to wait a few more hours!

So while I was on my way home from work I noticed I had a text. It read "I'm going to cut Jaxton's hair." I immediately replied with No! and got back that it was too late :s Talk about scared to go home!

I got there to find my oldest completely buzzed:( It doesn't look that bad but I'm still getting used to it. Once I fed Korbin, I was informed that we were going to McDonald's for lunch because it was part of the bribe to cut Jax's hair. The other part of the bribe included that he got to play Lego Batman 2 when we got home lol
The actually listened and ate when they were told to

They kept climbing up the slide before going back down

He found a buddy

Jax always has to sit there before we leave...so Bentley had to also
After naptime I took the kids over to my mom's to paint shirts for today. They had a lot of fun with it and Bentley probably would have done three if I'd have let him!

Finished products to come in a later post:)
Then last night was fireworks! For leaving so early to get a parking spot, the boys actually were really good...especially for not even liking the fireworks! I realized about half an hour after we got there that I had grabbed my lens for my good camera, but forgot the camera! Soo cheap camera pics it is
Playing in the car

He made a ton of money last night!

Not enjoying them

Too loud

Jaxton's picture of fireworks

He actually really liked them but the light on my camera scared him
Today's post for the list I had posted is 2. Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears.
1) The first would be probably what any parent would say: to lose any of my children. This became a fear before I even had Jaxton. It has to be the worst thing in the world for parents to have to bury their own children and I really pray I never have to go through this. Yes, I have technically lost a child, but that is slightly different and although I also don't want to go through that again, I feel losing one of the children that I actually have now would be a million times harder.
2) I don't know why but I really have a fear of not being a good enough mother to my children. Maybe this stems from the attitude Jaxton has right now and I feel that maybe if we were doing something different he might not be like this, but it also has a lot to do with his age I'm sure. I just hope that my boys can always stay being mama's boys and never truly feel like I was not good enough for them.
3) The last one would be to lose my husband. Yes, we fight quite a bit sometimes, but I still love him and so do the boys. I really hope that he is able to get his head issue straightened out soon because I feel like it has caused more stress lately and I hate seeing him in pain.

Today's post will be 3. Describe your relationship with your parents. I'll post this one later tonight hopefully with pics from today.

5 Months and 20 Facts

I want to start off today by saying I hate the heat! This weather has been ridiculous lately and being in the triple digits all week long is NOT something I look forward to!

So today was a fairly lazy day. The boys and I spent the morning at my mom's house. They played outside for a bit before it got overly hot and then instead of the pool they got in the tub.
My bubble blowing 5 month old!
After we came home and had naps Tim and Josie showed up to visit for a little while. It was nice to have an unexpected visit from someone and not be counting down until they went home!

My mom, sister, and I (didn't expect it to be a whole family affair lol) took Jaxton to the library for the first time today. I needed to pick up a couple of books and when he heard me ask mom if she wanted to go, he had to go too. He loved it and probably would have stayed quite a while if I'd have let him. It really makes me want to take him to their storytimes but I am not sure that he'd sit still long enough.
Not wanting me to stop his playtime for a picture

Playing with the puppets

He saw a giant comic book and had to go through it

Goofball with his two books he checked out
Then tonight was calmer, so to speak. Korbin wasn't acting like he felt great (I think I had too much dairy today) and the boys were just kind of crazy. I took Korbin's monthly picture, but the others will have to wait until it's slightly cooler since I wanted them outside. It is apparently a monthly game now for the older two to take pictures with Korbin after I take his alone...
My big boy sitting up. He fell over a couple of times and I had to fill in spots on my board lol

Jax had to hold Korbin...Bentley wanted in the pic too but was mad he wasn't holding Korbin

Bentley crying for Korbin lol

Weird lighting but funny pic. Bentley is happy now
It's getting late now and I have to open again tomorrow so I suppose I better type out my 20 random facts and go to bed...well sleep I guess since I'm already in bed.

1. My boys (all 5 of them) are my world.
2. Turquoise is my favorite color.
3. I have a new-found love for shoes and would buy a lot more if I had the clothes to go with them.
4. I have 13 tattoos and plans for more:)
5. I am not a morning person, even though I rarely get to sleep past 7:30am.
6. I always put others before myself. Sometimes it isn't what I should do, but I can't help it.
7. I love reading. I wish I had the time to read that I used to! Janet Evanovich books are probably my favorite.
8. As much as I want a little girl for my last child, I have come to terms with the fact that I'll probably have another boy and I'm perfectly fine with that.
9. I am starting school again this fall and hoping to finish the nursing program...then no more school!
10. I despise doing laundry. I don't know why but this is by far my least favorite chore.
11. I have to be cool and under a blanket to fall asleep at night...I can't stand being hot.
12. I am a crazy scrapbooking mom, even though my kids will probably never appreciate it. They all have 3 books or more.
13. I am never happy with my weight. This is mostly because I don't get the chance to work out and tone much, but I feel disgusting.
14. To go with the last fact, I am a junk food junkie. I somehow don't gain for the most part no matter what I eat.
15. Even though I'm a huge Iowa Hawkeye fan, I've never had the chance to make it to a game. I hope this changes soon!
16. As much as I may want to get away some days, when I actually do I just want to go back home to my babies.
17. Bottled water is my favorite drink.
18. I am the worst ever at remembering actors/actresses and it drives my husband crazy.
19. I absolutely hate centipedes. Spiders I could care less about but centipedes creep me out.
20. I want tacos right now.

Tomorrow's post:
2. Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears.

Back from break!

I took a break from a lot of the internet for the past month but I miss posting more often! It's just been so busy that by the time the kids go to bed, I follow! I'm hoping to start posting a little more again though and found a challenge that looked fun, so I'll try and keep up with it so I have a reason to post again! 29. What do you think people misundertand most about you?
30. List 10 things you would hope to be remembered for.

Since I last posted we obviously had Bentley's birthday party. I still have a hard time believing my baby (yes, he is still my baby even though I have a younger baby lol) is already two years old. He didn't talk a lot for quite some time but really makes up for it now. He still is hard to understand at times but picks things up like crazy. I want to start working on counting more again, since he had fun with it before but we just slowed down on it a lot. He loves the numbers 2, 4, and 5...forget the rest!
My favorite pic from his party
Korbin is a teething monster! He hasn't been near as fussy about it lately, but man can this kid produce drool! It takes no time at all for him to produce a pool on your lap! Now he has figured out how to blow bubbles so it is even worse...but so darn cute! He is still growing like a weed and is such a little sweetheart.

Jaxton...oh Jaxton. He has been pushing buttons lately nobody knew existed. I really just want to lock myself in a room some days but he would bang on the door til I came out if I did! When he wants to be good, he is such a sweet kid...playing with Bentley, talking to Korbin, snuggling with me, but when he wants to be naughty, watch out! I hope this phase is about over with!

I was going to add some pictures of the other two boys but just realized I haven't even transferred them lately...shame on me! Maybe tomorrow lol

As for me...I just finished a week of opening at work since my boss had been out of town. I have enjoyed "sleeping in" the past two days! I am not really a morning person at all...even though Korbin would like me to be! It's nice being able to just feed him a little more and he goes back to sleep usually.

I also made two trips to Des Moines this week. Tuesday I went to a concert with my hubby. It was Gretchen Wilson (sucked), Three Doors Down (really good), and ZZ Top (ehh). He wanted to go so I wasn't going to say no to a chance to get away with no kids...even though I missed them like crazy! Then Thursday he had another appointment with the neurologist down there. That was pretty much a waste of time and he will likely be seeing someone else soon. He just isn't getting better very quickly at all and it is getting stressful not being able to find a doctor we know will help and having to go with whoever work comp finds first instead. Luckily, he has a case worker now that seems willing enough to get him better care.

Other than all of that jazz, there really isn't a whole lot more to share. I feel like I've been really busy, but can't even say with what half the time because I don't feel like I do much that's productive! It scares me because if I already feel busy I'm going to go crazy when I start school again next month! I am super excited for it though:)
