30 Days of Truth-Day 26

Day 26-Have you ever thought about giving up on life? If so, when and why?

This one is very personal but yes I have. Not long after I graduated I was stuck in a phase where I really didn't have any friends because the only ones I used to have drank every night and I didn't care for that. I had pretty much stopped caring about my school, job, and anything else. I didn't talk to anyone anymore and became very depressed. I started seeing a dr for it and they put me on medication after medication, which ended up making things considerably worse. There was even a day where my parents called the cops because I wouldn't answer my phone or door and they thought I might be dead.

Luckily I was able to get through this horrible time thanks to my husband. He took care of me when nobody else was there and I am more than grateful for this. He loved me for who I really am and not just for what everyone saw on the outside.

Had to stop for this...

I just have to share this picture. On Christmas day we were driving to go to my mom's house and this truck was a block down from my house. I made my husband pull over so I could get out and take a picture and after arguing with me he finally did!

Hehe I just love it

30 Days of Truth-Day 25

Day 25-The reason you believe you're still alive today.

The reason I am still alive today is for my husband and kids. They really are my world and without them I can't say that I would have much to live for. I cannot imagine what I would ever do if anything happened to any of them. I love my boys<3

30 Days of Truth-Day 27

Day 27-What's the best thing going for you right now?

I would have to say other than my children (because they will always be the best thing in my life) I'd say my love for photography. I feel like I am improving every day and learning so much and I just love it. My kids may not appreciate it now but it is the one material thing that truly makes me happy. I really hope to start a small business sometime down the road once I get a little more practice down so that I am able to share this with others!

Christmas!

We had a great Christmas this year. Of course my camera was my main Christmas present that I just got way early so I didn't get much other than gift cards but I'm perfectly happy with that anyway! My boys got super spoiled by me and then both of our families so I have some more rearranging to do in the toy room still but it'll work somehow!

I am very glad that Christmas is over this year though because it just gets so stressful around our house for some reason. This year wasn't horrible because thankfully we were all healthy and the weather didn't get near as bad as it was supposed to be.

Here are some pictures from our Christmases. We did our gifts Christmas Eve, my family on Christmas day, and my husband's family the day after.

All of the boys' presents!
 Bentley's favorite-wrapping paper:)
Pretty sure Jaxton liked Bentley's toy more than most of his own
Don't mind the baby slobber on my sleeve lol
Gizmo sneaking his bone from Santa before he was supposed to!
He was excited for candy and more toys!
 Cheese!!!

30 Days of Truth-Days 22-24

Day 22-Something you wish you hadn't done in your life.

I am a strong believer in everything happens for a reason so although there are definitely things I wish I hadn't done, they haven gotten me to where I am today so I wouldn't want to change that. If I had to pick one thing it would have definitely been getting credit cards and so many school loans when I was 18 because then I of course couldn't afford everything and let my credit go downhill which of course still affects me today.

Day 23-Something you wish you had done in your life.

I honestly can't think of anything to go here. Like I said in the last one, everything happens for a reason.

Day 24-Post a song that reminds you of your significant other and why.

I'm going to say Far Away by Nickelback. This song fit us perfectly because we had broken up at one point and vowed to never let it happen again. It was actually our wedding song:)

So far away

This time, this place
Misused, mistakes
Too long, too late
Who was I to make you wait?

Just one chance, just one breath
Just in case there's just one left
Cause you know
You know, you know

That I love you, I have loved you all along
And I miss you, been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you'll be with me and you'll never go
Stop breathing if I don't see you anymore

One my knees, I'll ask
Last chance for one last dance
Cause with you I'd withstand
All of it to hold your hand

I'd give it all, I'd give for us
Give anything but I won't give up
Cause you know
You know, you know

That I love you, I have loved you all along
And I miss you, been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you'll be with me and you'll never go
Stop breathing if I don't see you anymore

So far away, been far away for far too long
So far away, been far away for far too long
But you know
You know, you know

I wanted
I wanted you to stay
Cause I needed
I need to hear you say

I love you, I have loved you all along
And I forgive you for being away for far too long
So keep breathing, cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it, hold on to me, never let me go

Keep breathing cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it, hold on to me, never let me go
Hold on to me, never let me go
Hold on to me, never let me go

30 Days of Truth-Days 19-21

Yp I have three days to catch up on this time. My internet is out right now and I've been stuck home so I haven't had the chance to get on! So here we go.

Day 19-Post a picture of your favorite pet and explain why.

Gizmo wins this one hands down. He is a pomeranian my husband got me right after we got engaged. He had been thinking about getting me a puppy and was working at the radio station at the time. He had mentioned it to his boss and that same day she called him saying someone called in who had a puppy that had been abandoned. He picked him up and brought him home.

Gizmo has been a perfect dog since we got him and I can't imagine why someone would want to leave him at a gas station on purpose like they did! He was fully potty trained and everything. We were super worried about him when we got pregnant because everywhere you look it says poms are bad with kids. He has been perfect with both of our children and has never even made us question keeping him. He definitely is my little fur baby:)

Day 20-Your views on drugs and alcohol.

I'm not sure what they're looking for here but in my opinion making drinking illegal only makes kids want to rebel and do it more. I think the drinking age might as well be lowered back to 18 because most people are drinking before then anyway and maybe they'd be more responsible if they were allowed since a lot are still in the typical teen stage anyway.

As for drugs I think that marijuana should just be legalized already because the people that do it have no problem and I think it's safer than drinking anyway! The rest of drugs are for addicts so they can stay illegal. It's their choice to ruin their life with something like that so I suppose let them.

Day 21-(scenario) Your best friend is in a car accident and you got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?

Well considering my husband is my best friend cry like crazy and pray he is ok. Of course apologize and feel horrible. There isn't really a lot you can do in situations like this.

30 Days of Truth-Days 17-18

Day 17-A book you've read that changed your views on something.

This one made me think because most books I read are mystery or crime related. The first book that came to mind though was my favorite book-My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. This book really makes you think on medical ethics. The book is about a young girl with leukemia. Her parents decide to have another child genetically altered to make sure that she would be a compatible donor for her older sister. She goes through countless surgerys and blood draws to help her sister. At one point she has enough and finds a lawyer who helps her try for legal emancipation for her body from her parents since she is a minor.

It really makes you think because at what point is enough enough? Most people would do anything to save their child but to me in this situation when you know she isn't going to live much longer anyway, why torture your other children to put it off and make them both suffer? Also, is it really ethical to have a child just to save another for a short time? I don't think I would ever have the heart for this.

I won't spoil the end of the book for anyone who hasn't read it but it is a very good read. It makes you really think on different situations. I will warn you it is hard to read if you are very emotional though!

Day 18-Your views on gay marriage.

This one is simple. If two people are in love and want to be married-let them. I see nothing wrong with it if it is how they feel.

Day 1: Something you hate about yourself.
Day 2: Something you love about yourself.

Day 3: Something you have to forgive yourself for.

30 Days of Truth-Days 15-16

Day 15-Someone or something you couldn't live without.

Yep I missed a day again! I've been so busy with the boys and Christmas coming up that I keep missing days! I love this season but can't wait until things calm down a little again!

I'm going to go with something I couldn't live without. I definitely have to say my phone. My camera is a very very close second but my phone could take pictures if I needed it so that's why it is first. It is sadly my main source of communication with my husband so that is why it is so important to me. He works 60+ hours a week and is able to talk/text while working and I work every other weekend he has off so we don't see eachother near as often as we'd like. Also being able to get online with my phone makes it all the more important:)

Day 16-Someone or something you definitely could live without

Here I am going to go with fake people. I hate people who can't just say what they really think and act like they love everyone. I have a manager right now who is like this and he seems to think people like him but we can all see right through him and dislike him even more because of it.

Day 1: Something you hate about yourself.

12 Days of Christmas-catching up!

I'm horrible with uploading pictures on a daily basis and forgot I started this! I'm on my last day of my week off so it's time to catch up again! Christmas is sneaking up wayy too fast! I can't wait for Jaxton to enjoy Christmas for the first time since last year the poor guy was sick. Surprisingly he hasnt tried opening any presents from under the tree yet-but the dog has gotten ahold of two.
Since I have 3 days of pictures to post here's one of my boys.. It's not the best quality and Bentley looks sickly because his eczema is acting up again but I LOVE Jaxton's expression watching Bentley.
The next one is from decorating sugar cookies yesterday! Jaxton had tons of fun and obviously loved the sprinkles. I had to put a stop to the decorating because he was getting mad at me for making him stop pouring them on the cookies that were already full of them! I don't plan on eating any of the ones he decorated looking at them with that much sugar makes my stomach turn but it was definitely worth the fun!

And today's is just for fun:)

30 Days of Truth-Day 14

Day 14-Someone who isn't in your life, but you wish was.

Two people come to mind on this one. My great-grandmother being the first. She passed away two years ago just three days before Jaxton was born. Although she didn't remember much some days she always lit up when we talked about him coming soon. She was so excited to meet him and she never got the chance. Of course I miss her like crazy but I wish that she would have been able to meet at least Jaxton.

The other person that I think of is my husbands grandfather. He passed away a little over a year ago and I truly thought of him as the grandpa I never had. He was a great guy and absolutely adored Jaxton but never got the chance to meet Bentley. He would have loved to see Jaxton running around so much now and to help grandma watch the boys on Tuesdays.

Both of you will always be missed more than you could have known. We love you. RIP

30 Days of Truth-Day 13

Day 13-Write a letter to your son or daughter.
I'm going to make it to both of my boys because it wouldn't be fair to choose just one of them.
Dear Jaxton and Bentley,
You two are by far the best things in my life. You are literally what I live for. I absolutely love how no matter what kind of mood I'm in or what kind of day I'm having, you can make me smile and remember what's really important.
Jaxton-you are too smart for your age and as much as I love it sometimes I hate it too but I wouldn't trade it for anything. You are such a cute and sweet little guy and although you are in the 'terrible twos' right now, for the most part you are still a good kid. I love how you constantly are saying colors of everything around you and your passion for coloring-even if it means I occassionally have to buy magic erasers. You are such a great big brother and helper. Bentley adores you and I'm sure he will look up to you for years to come. I love you.
Bentley-I truly feel blessed to have you. I worried every day of my pregnancy that I was going to lose you but you stayed put. You are my little snuggler and although some days I wish I could put you down a little longer I love the bonding time. Your smile lights up my day and the way you watch Jaxton is just adorable. I can't wait to watch you grow and talk. I love you.
You both are amazing little boys and I wouldn't trade anything for you. I hope as you grow older you will realize how much you are loved by your dad and I. We couldn't imagine life without you.
Love,
Your mom

Day 12-Something you never get compliments on.

I guess I don't think about this a lot because I just don't expect compliments on anything. I really don't feel like I get a lot of compliments on how I look other than my weight. I usually don't care a lot how I look so I'm sure that plays into it too because I don't dress up much anymore.

Blizzard!

Well after the snow held out for so long this year, our first blizzard officially arrived. It started raining Friday and of course that turned into snow late in the night so it all mixed and made a mess. Yesterday it did nothing but snow and the winds were ridiculous so there are huge drifts everywhere.

Of course that means we had to make an anual trip through a blizzard to try and get to ER. Last year on Christmas Eve there was a huge blizzard and we had to take Jaxton to ER and he ended up having croupe. This time Toad woke up around 6am itching like crazy. The only thing we could come up with was that it was a reaction to a medication he took last night and when we looked it up it said if severe itching occured to seek immediate medical attention. We should have known trying to get out of town that we'd never make it to the hospital but there wasn't much else to do. After weaving through the few plowed roads in town we made it just outside of town before running into a car stranded in a drift in the middle of the road. There was a plow sitting on the other side of it but we decided we should just turn around. Well while I was starting to turn around in the road the plow started heading straight at us so I had to straighten out quickly and we figured since he was coming our way that he must have already plowed the road we were on. We kept driving and it wasn't too bad until we got to the top of a hill and ran into a huge drift before I even had a chance to hit the brakes. It looked like blowing snow then pow-we were stuck in the middle of the road.
Let me mention again my husband is sitting in the passenger seat itching everywhere the whole time we've been driving. Within a few minutes of getting stuck and realizing we were not getting out on our own he says "You're going to hate me but I don't itch as bad now." I figured this would happen.

Finally a plow pulled up on the other side of the drift. The guys tried working to even get to us on the other side of the road but the drift was about 4 feet high and their pickup just wasn't going to get through it either. So after sitting in the car, watching one of my windshield wipers bust and the other do nothing, a guy starts walking toward us in the middle of the road. He lived at a house closeby and said he'd been able to get a couple of other people out and he had a tractor if we wanted him to try to help out. It took him what seemed like forever to walk back to his house and return with the little tractor! He finally got us out and by that point we didn't care about trying to get to the hospital anymore, we just wanted to make it back home.

Upon returning home, our friend who had been staying with us all weekend told us that the highway we were driving to when we got stuck was actually closed a couple of miles down anyway so we never would have made it to town.

We were extremely lucky for a number of things today. 1-Kelly was here to watch the boys so we were able to attempt going to ER. 2-That they boys weren't with us when we did get stuck. 3-That nobody was hurt when we hit the snowdrift pretty hard. 4-That hubby's itching did slow down since we weren't able to get to town. Most importantly 5-there were 3 people nice enough to try and help us get out of the drift, especially the guy who wasn't being paid to plow, he was just helping others out even at 6:30am. It's nice to know there are still people like this out there!

30 Days of Truth-Day 9

Since I was a slacker yesterday and didn't post I guess I will have to make up for 2 days today. We had a good friend from Minnesota come stay with us for the weekend and so the first couple days of my weeks vacation were just being lazy and hanging out. Lazy days are always welcomed here though.

Day 9-Someone you didn't want to let go, but just drifted.

I am going to go with Rachel. We were best friends for years starting back in middle school. We were pretty much connected at the hip and often were asked if we were sisters because of the fact that we were always together. Toward our last days of high school we even had the chance to live together for a while. After that is when we started to drift.
Now we still talk online occasionally but that is it. We both miss the fun days we used to have but we know that things have changed. I am married with 2 children so I have a very different lifestyle than she does. She moved to Minnesota a few years ago with her boyfriend and since then we've talked even less. I think deep down, despite our differences on our outside lives, we still have a lot in common and I really miss talking with her.

Day 10- Someone you need to let go.

I honestly don't think I have anyone I need to let go. When I need to let someone go I usually do. I am friends with people I like having around and if I don't want someone around-I stay away.

30 Days of Truth-Day 8

Day 8-Someone who made your life hell, or treated you badly.

I don't have a lot of problems with most people so there was really only one person that came to mind with this one. One of my old managers treated me horribly and I don't think I will ever forget that. He said extremely hurtful things that were not needed, especially in the workplace, and I was miserable coming to work for weeks with him around. Luckily, with the help of some coworkers and him just being stupid, he was fired not much longer. Sadly though I cannot forget this time because it was already one of the hardest times of my life and he made it so much worse for me.

Day 7-Someone who has made your life worth living for.

I'm going to have to say my husband is the answer to this one. We first met when I was having a very hard time with my life and he accepted that and chose to love me anyway. We have been through some very trying moments but we manage to work through them. Because of him I also have two of the most amazing children I could ask for:)

30 Days of Truth-Day 6

Day 6-Something you hope you never have to do.

The one thing I hope I never have to do is what most parents would say and that is to never have to bury one of my children. Losing my children is probably my biggest fear. They are truly my life and I would be absolutely ruined if I ever lost them.

30 Days of Truth-Day 5

Day 5-Something you hope to do in your life.

Something I hope to do in my life is start up a successful photography business. I have been slowly working on this but have decided not to push it and spend more time learning my camera and tips before I really work on the business aspect of things. I still enjoy taking pictures for others just as much though!

Day 4- Something you have to forgive someone for.
After thinking about this one for a while I have come to the conclusion that I don't have anyone I need to forgive for something. I am usually a pretty forgiving person so anyone that I feel deserves to be forgiven already has been!

30 Days of Truth-Day 3

Day 3-Something you have to forgive yourself for.

I would say the one thing I need to forgive myself for would be not making a decision on what I wanted to go to school for sooner. Then of course not going for nursing when I had the opportunity. I usually move on after something happens because I know that everything happens for a reason but this is something I definitely regret. I know someday I will find the reason I didn't continue with it or maybe I'll start again:)
